Why Join NHAHA
NHAHA’s work is strategically coordinated to maximize the community resources in order to achieve health parity in the Haitian community. By joining NHAHA, you have the opportunity of receiving various benefits as highlighted below:
- Information provision on Haitian Health-related issues
Members have access and can contribute to publications that provide information on health research and issues relevant to communities. NHAHA’s publications are a source of information for grantmakers seeking information on Haitians. NHAHA is an intelligent and neutral medium that gathers up the pieces and presents an in-depth analysis of health issues facing Haitians. NHAHA will bring you a coherent profile on the health status Haitians nationally. NHAHA’s website will develop into a "clearinghouse" accessible to grantmakers and the community.
- Boost your visibility both at the region and national level
Participating on regional caucuses allow member organizations to build on NHAHA's national work in Haitian health to actively move their agendas forward while contributing to the national agenda. Regional meetings afford the opportunity to members to meet other members from their region, discuss region-specific issues, identify gaps in services, formulate priorities, collaborate and contribute to the national agenda.
- Capacity-building Assistance
A range of skill building activities and information is offered through our annual conferences and other community activities. Tailored technical assistance is available to community-based organizations in program and board development. Consultation is available on material translation, community organizing for health and tailored training modules on Haitian health.
- Enhanced networking
NHAHA's most valuable asset is the wealth of information, experience and knowledge brought by its board members, its individual and organizational members, and its affiliates. Annual national meetings as well as regional meetings, workshops and other activities provide opportunities to expand your contacts, share best practice model, gain skills and knowledge.
- Increased visibility
Through our newsletter, publications, website and database, NHAHA will provide member agencies a national platform to potentially share your research studies, publicize your services, and promote your efforts. This will create better opportunities for service coordination and increase your visibility within and outside the Haitian community.
- National Membership Directory
The online Membership Directory will increase your networking resources and facilitate your connections with colleagues.
