Earthquake in Haiti

 NHAHA Eathquake Goals: The National Haitian American Health Alliance has been engaged in strategic planning with partners around the US in the Boston, Miami and New York. Goals are to: 1) coordinate efforts; 2)provide support to member organization activities; 3)keep members conncected to share information; 4)engage in advocacy; and 5) Facilitate funds raising efforts and secure resources for our members' relief projects.

Short-term projects include:

•  Support the re-opening of Center Medico Social North Alexis of the Diaspora Community Services in Port-Au-Prince set for next week.  The clinic was slightly damaged, lost one staff and is in need of supplies.
• Hold educational community forum to provide a platform for community members to tell their stories, provide them with information. and assess their needs.
• Build a volunteer pool on NHAHA's website 
• Promote the implementation of TPS in New York, Miami and Boston

Mid-range goals

• Devise a  plan goals for Haiti 
• Support the reconstruction of the Center for Community Health, Education &Research(CCHER) Haiti projects. The clinic hs been completely destroyed.
• NHAHA also supports the work of the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad (AMHE)on behalf ofearthquake victims in Haiti.

Long-Term goals

• Contribute to the long-term goals of rebuilding of a Haitian health care system of through:  Capacity building, training, Technical Assistance, sharing of expertise, planning and Human resources.
