STRATEGIC PLAN SUMMARY 2010-2020
This version of the Business Plan is intended to replace the previous 5-year plan

OVERVIEW
NHAHA is a New York-based organization with national reach in Florida, and Boston. NHAHA was created in March 2003 with the goal of addressing health disparities in Haitian communities based on a health improvement framework in three phases: Assessment, Capacity building, Leadership, Interventions and Evaluation. The first five years of work included: assessing community needs, gaps in services and identifying community priorities.

These priorities fall into three domains of public health practice:
       - Health Improvement
wide ranging action to improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities
       - Health Protection
emergency response, action for clean air, water and food, infectious disease control, and protection against environmental health hazards
       - Health and Social Care Quality
action in service planning, access to care, clinical effectiveness, and care coordination

These domains are supported with broad community goals and objectives that drive NHAHA's scope of work. The scope of work comprises of the following strategically selected community-level interventions: public policy and advocacy, annual conference and regional meetings, community health planning and development, research tools materials, technical assistance, and public health education. Each intervention is specified with activities and formulated outcomes.
